
Daryl Powell
Daryl Powell is Lean Program Manager at Kongsberg Maritime AS in Horten, Norway and Adjunct Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. He has over 15 years of experience from studying and practicing lean in a diverse range of industries worldwide, from automotive to oil and gas. In 2017, Dr. Powell received the Shingo Research Award together with Prof. Dr. Torbjørn Netland from ETH Zurich for the Routledge Companion to Lean Management. The same year, Kongsberg Maritime was presented with the Norwegian Lean Enterprise of the Year Award.
Drawing on his experiences with lean management, his most recent, thought-provoking work, The Lean Sensei – written together with Michael Balle and an A-team of lean pioneers – has just been published by the Lean Enterprise Institute.
